JOB SUMMARY: Experienced in the commercial real estate industry, retail, or similar field, the Director of Public Relations will set the tone for external messaging for one of the most well-respected commercial real estate brokerage firms in the U.S. The Director of Public Relations will develop and deploy a cohesive communications strategy including managing corporate and local media relations, ensuring quality control and accuracy of information released, and cultivating an environment of readiness and alertness to seize opportunities for positive press. This Director will also serve as the lead corporate marketing liaison and coach for a segment of the SRS local offices around the globe.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline
10-plus years of public relations, communications, or marketing related experience
Experience building national and local media relationships to drive thought-leadership and brand building in our markets
Experience in community engagement and fundraising
Strong and confident leadership that leads to exceptional problem solving
The ability to lead and influence stakeholders toward successful outcomes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and drive the public relations and community engagement strategy.
Control the flow of information between the organization and the public.
Maintain a system to track performance of each communications/PR source and monitor the return on investment.
Serve as a brand ambassador—ensuring that all communications and collateral enhance the SRS brand and are consistent with brand guidelines.
Stay in-the-know on market, retail, and competitor trends so that you can contribute to giving SRS a competitive advantage
Create budget for PR and community engagement while ensuring compliance.
Manage media relations and establish relationships with media outlets, industry organizations, PR firms, and community leaders.
Create and coordinate external press releases and communications.
Manage proactive and reactive communications, including any crisis that may arise.
Identify speaking and interview opportunities to better position the team as leaders in the industry.
Manage presence and messaging at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Offer PR training and coaching for local offices, inclusive of training materials, webinars, and one-on-one training.
Manage community engagement and charitable relationships for the company.
Represent SRS in community and charitable endeavors.
Lead SRS fundraising to meet our annual goals to designated charities.
Engage and oversee third-party vendors as needed.
Serve as the corporate marketing/communication liaison for a designated group of SRS local offices.
Provide PR and communications guidance and support to local field office marketing teams.
