This position has full responsibility for all operational activities of the cooperative, including construction, the line crews, dispatch, and warehouse functions. Operational duties include developing programs, directing training and safety programs, overseeing equipment/supply/material purchases, and developing budgets.
Qualified applicants must have minimum of eight years upper management/supervisory electric utility operations experience, or five years upper management electric utility operations experience and one of the following; an accredited journeyman lineman certification or a bachelor’s degree (Management or Business Administration) combined. Must be proficient in Microsoft products, have knowledge of utility databases, SCADA, outage management and GIS/mapping software. Candidates should have broad experience in management, supervision, utility planning and economic development.
Must demonstrate strong initiative, a commitment to member service and the ability to meet deadlines. Good communications and people skills, involved in the community, proactive, creative, well-organized, neat, self-starter, highly motivated and able to work under high demand situations. Qualifications must include a positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and broad electric utility knowledge. Must reside within 20-mile radius of reporting facility. This is a Management position.
Midstate Electric is a rural electric distribution cooperative. Its primary mission is to provide electric service to its member/owners in the Central Oregon area. MEC's territory covers 5,600 square miles and provides electric service to four counties and just over 22,000 members. Midstate is very involved in the communities it serves and supports local businesses and promotes economic development.
