Wilkes University invites applicants for Sports Information Assistant, a nine-month intern position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics beginning August 2023.
The successful candidate is responsible for effectively assisting the Sports Information Director and Assistant Sports Information Director in all aspects of operating the sports information office. Primary responsibilities include game statistic compilation (Statcrew/NCAA Live Stats), video operation, written releases, roster and schedule management, web management, social media management, public address announcing and administrative tasks. Experience with volleyball and ice hockey NCAA Live Stats preferred. Must be proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
The individual must possess a strong sense of professionalism and communication skills; be willing to work independently including evenings and weekends; be goal oriented; have the ability to work with a diverse staff and make a commitment to follow NCAA and conference rules.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience at the collegiate level is desirable. This position includes a stipend and housing.
