The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, housed in Rowan’s AACSB-Accredited William G. Rohrer College of Business, invites applications for a new Head of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE). The Head will hold the William G. Rohrer Professorial Chair of Entrepreneurship and serve as Executive Director of the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE). This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic, innovative, growth-oriented team dedicated to building world-class degree programs, delivering comprehensive interdisciplinary co-curricular entrepreneurship programming, and developing and disseminating impactful, thought-provoking scholarship at the highest levels. Rowan’s undergraduate entrepreneurship programs were ranked among the Top 50 in the world by Princeton Review / Entrepreneur Magazine in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2019, and again in 2022, the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE) received AACSB Innovations that Inspire Awards. In 2021, RCIE received ICSB’s Entrepreneurship Center Global Impact Award.
Rowan’s entrepreneurship faculty publish in leading academic journals (JOM, ET&P, JBV, SBE, JSBM, JBR, TFSC), hold board positions and/or assume leadership roles in leading academic organizations, and serve as editors or on the editorial boards of top journals, and we seek these qualities in the next Rohrer Chair. As Executive Director of the RCIE, the successful candidate will lead Rowan’s interdisciplinary entrepreneurship programming efforts, including soliciting and administering grants, overseeing co-curricular programming, and serving as a liaison to the business community. The incumbent will also contribute to the growth of entrepreneurship at Rowan, including not just Rowan’s academic programs but also the $25M Rowan Innovation Venture Fund and South Jersey Technology Park.
The Head will be responsible for the enrollment growth and operation of numerous undergraduate and graduate programs, including:
B.S. in Entrepreneurship
B.S. in Engineering Entrepreneurship (in partnership with the College of Engineering)
Minor in Entrepreneurship
MBA Concentrations in both Entrepreneurship and Cannabis Commercialization
Undergraduate Certificates in Technology and Innovation, Creative Industries Entrepreneurship, Cannabis Commercialization, and Real Estate
Graduate Certificates in Leading Innovative Organizations, Corporate Entrepreneurship, and Technology and Innovation
New program development partnership with other campus partners, including the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine
