The University of North Georgia (UNG), a multi-campus institution and federally designated senior military college, invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the Mike Cottrell College of Business. Positioned in the fastest-growing region of the state, UNG comprises five campuses united by a single academic-focused mission. UNG is part of the University System of Georgia; with about 18,000 students, it is one of the state’s largest public universities.
The Mike Cottrell College of Business serves business and technology students across all five UNG campuses and online. It currently enrolls more than 20 percent of the entire UNG student body. The College prepares students to lead in the workplace and strengthen their communities through academic excellence, experiential learning, innovative teaching, and entrepreneurial and ethical leadership development. Students learn the skills and expectations necessary to become strong and effective leaders in their future careers. In addition, the MCCB is a valued partner in regional economic development.
Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Chaudron Gille, the Dean serves as a member of the Provost’s Council and the President’s Cabinet. The position also serves as the College’s Chief Academic and Executive Officer, responsible for all matters related to the College’s internal management as well as developing external relationships and engaging in philanthropic pursuits. Qualified candidates will possess substantial managerial and leadership experience, demonstrate accomplishments commensurate with appointment as a tenured Full Professor within the College or as a senior business executive, and have a passion for donor and community engagement.
