The Member Services and Corporate Communications Director is a member of the Executive Team and oversees all aspects of member services and corporate communications for the cooperative and provides member service support to the 9 member cooperatives served by Sho-Me. The role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance member support, improve communication channels, and promote the cooperative’s mission and values.
Responsibilities:
Maintain relationships with the Managers and Member Service personnel of our member cooperatives.
Direct and coordinate legislative activities at Sho-Me, interfacing with various departments and personnel within the cooperative, our member cooperatives and the AMEC Legislative Department to ensure success.
Coordinate internal and external communications concerning Sho-Me, AECI, AMEC, NRECA, member coops and other communications to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies promoting the cooperative’s mission, values, and initiatives.
Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan to effectively manage and respond to emergencies or unexpected events. Act as the primary point of contact during a crisis, coordinating communication efforts and ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.
Lead and support completion of assigned key strategic initiatives and SMART goals from Strategic Plan.
Work with community organizations and foundations to aid in enhancing the corporate image at Sho-Me while benefiting the supported groups.
Aid in the Economic Development functions of Sho-Me Power and our nine member cooperatives, providing support and information as necessary.
Attend and participate in Member Services, Grassroots and Economic Development meetings and conferences.
Develop and maintain resources for our member cooperatives to enhance energy safety, efficiency, and education, while also promoting effective communication, cooperative culture, and economic development.
Oversee the development and maintenance of shomepower.com, ShoMeTV, and social media channels. Coordinate with other departments to gather content and delegate content contribution.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Member Services and Corporate Communications team.
Direct the Safety and Energy Efficiency Education Program for children and adults.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field with electric utility experience preferred. Extensive experience in communications and member and public relations required and will be considered in lieu of degree. Effective communication skills required.
