The City of Corona is seeking a Recreation Supervisor to lead, inspire, and elevate creative community recreation programs. This role is ideal for a dynamic recreation leader who enjoys supervising staff, managing diverse programs, and partnering with the community to create meaningful recreational opportunities for all ages.

Special events and rental spaces
Fine arts programming
Youth and adult sports league and athletics
Staff management - including development and supervision
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education:
Equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation, public or business administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in the implementation of recreation programming involving budget and program development responsibilities, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Develop, implement, and evaluate recreation programs, facilities, and special events that meet community needs
Supervise, train, and evaluate staff; ensure effective performance and professional development
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and professional standards
Research, analyze, and recommend program improvements and new service delivery methods
Represent the department and City with community groups, agencies, and partner organizations
Create marketing and outreach materials, including print and digital media
Respond to public inquiries and complaints; prepare clear reports and maintain accurate records
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of employment, a valid CPR and first aid certification issued by the American Red Cross, to be maintained throughout employment.
The position is FLSA Exempt – ineligible for overtime compensation and may be required to work nights and weekends as needed.

THE ORGANIZATION
The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. Policy making and legislative authority is vested in the City Council, consisting of a Mayor and four Council Members. Members of the City Council are elected by District to a four-year term. The Mayor is selected by the Council and serves as the presiding officer for one year. The City is organized into the following departments/organizational units: Community Services, City Manager’s Office, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works, and Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the City Manager and an Assistant City Manager.
